...

You dream of tomorrow
I dream of us in the sun
You work with the feasible
Prospects, plans, divisions
Calculations of what’s to be done
But oh don’t you know the invisible
Plays the main role on my stage?
Baby, don’t you see the invisible
Sets the pace of my walking,
The invisible talking
Is what makes what you dream of
Believable?

You draw your marks on the board
The lines you project in the future
Your laws and your sour predictions
Seem to control for a while
The nature of your open despair
But oh don’t you know the invisible
Plays the main role on my stage?
Baby, don’t you know the invisible
Sets the pace of my walking,
The invisible talking
Is what makes your dreams
Quite believable?

It’s sad but I don’t know what’s next
And I don’t think that knowing the past
Will change the sound of the knocks on your door.
Will change even that
Bit of resentment I see in your eyes
(Yes, of course you try to disguise)
when you claim that once you know more
all will be good and beautiful and nice.
But oh don’t you know the invisible
Plays the main role on my stage?
Baby, don’t you know the invisible
Sets the pace of my walking,
The invisible idling talking
Is what makes your illusions
Believable?
